Choosing the Layered Approach

This article, published in Fire & Rescue Q3 2015, looks at the recent development of an innovative approach to firefighter PPE development. This uses a layered garment configuration to provide structural and wildland firefighting, as well as technical rescue, protection in a combination of three garments in place of the traditional single purpose solution which would use up to a total of six coats and trousers to achieve the same result.
